Kellogg Library's 10th Anniversary

Marketing, Advertising, Print, Logo Design, Silkscreen

-Celebrating a Decade's worth of Academic Achievements.

Overview

2014 marked the Kellogg Library’s 10th anniversary. A committee of 10 – 15 people developed ideas and events that could be held in and outside the library over the course of a semester. I was in charge of working with the committee to create branding, marketing, and promotional material that could be displayed on the library’s website, Facebook, and social media pages.

Fun Facts

After debating whether or not to get T-shirts printed with the 10th anniversary logo on it, it was determined to make a silkscreen instead. It was determined to be more cost-effective and allowed students, faculty, and others, to be more hands-on involved in the celebration. This was my first time working with silkscreen but it certainly won't be the last.

Other Details

With  the advisement of the committee, I  developed a theme around a classic birthday party, with balloons and streamers/banners. I wanted to use bright and vibrant colors to be eye catching and to stand out.
Promotional materials such as digital signs and Facebook posts were sent out nearly two months before the first event and then was increased dramatically as each of the events approached.

Also as part of the 10th anniversary, a special logo was created.  After collaborating with 10 – 15 people, the consensus was that they wanted the logo to be simple and to feature the building’s unique shape. From this, it was also severely minimized to create the silkscreen design.

To help promote the event, several different contests were also created in hopes of bringing more traffic to the Kellogg Library’s online presences. The video contest was very popular and actually, received several submissions that were later added to the Library's archives.
Above is an example of the designs for digital signs, that were 40+ inch TVs displayed across the library and campus. Digital signs needed

to be quick and easy to read.
