-A 12-Hour Design Marathon, Greatly Impacting San Diego Non-Profits.
Overview
In June of 2015, I was fortunate enough to participate in San Diego’s first Design Like Mad event. Design Like Mad is a fairly new and growing organization that hosts 12-hour “design marathons” in different cities throughout the country, bringing together student and professional designers for one day to provide pro-bono, design work for local non-profit organizations.
Fun Facts
An amazing content writer, two kick-ass web designers, and myself were partnered with the Loving Spoonfuls organization, to create a micro-site and logo for the newly established San Diego Meal Service Program. The goal of SDMSP was to establish a localized site where organizations and individuals could come together and provide various resources to San Diego’s homeless population in a clean and safe environment.
Other Details
While my fellow group members worked on creating the sites layout and its content, I created the logo. The guidelines were that the new logo needed to have the same look and feel as the main Downtown San Diego Partnership logo.
This was one of the most rewarding projects I have ever had the pleasure to be apart of. You can find out more about San Diego Design Like Mad by following the link here.
