Pause for Paws

Marketing, Advertising, Print

-A Popular Campus Event for Stressed Out Cal State San Marcos Students.

Overview

Pause for Paws is a semi-annual event where therapy animals provide much-needed stress relief on the CSUSM campus usually around finals week. I assisted in providing new branding for this event, which included Facebook cover photo designs, digital signs, printed flyers, facebook and Twitter ads, and creating a series of contests to get a higher turnout and more campus involvement.
I was also in charge of photographing the event and using them to create a better social media presence and update the Library's stock photos.

Fun Facts

The animals that came to visit were part of the San Diego Love on a Leash organization that provided therapy pet's with the function of brightening someone's day. These therapy pets and their handlers visit nursing homes, hospitals and schools to provide emotional support. They put a smile on someone's face, make their day a little brighter, or bring back a cherished memory.
Because this was such a popular event on the CSUSM campus, many of the students actually knew the animals who came to visit by name and had favorites.

Other Details

The Kellogg Library did see a small surge of activity on their Facebook and twitter pages. The photography contest also allowed the library to get more stock photography for future events.
In previous years this event spanned over the course of several days, but now it is only one day a semester making it very important to advertise the specific date and time all across the campus.
Promotional material such as digital signs and Facebook posts were sent out nearly two months early and then were dramatically increased as the event approached.
